A Drop in the Ocean is the only remaining Norwegian aid organisation who work in refugee camps in Greece. We uncover humanitarian needs, and contribute to finding sustainable and worthy solutions to improve the everyday life for refugees. Together we can make a difference!
“If the feeling of physical relief, as we stepped out of the camp and returned to the peaceful surroundings of Moria Village, is anywhere close to how many of the refugees feel when they make the same trip almost every day to visit the Drop Centre, A Drop in the Ocean is doing a priceless job. Through various activities in the Drop Centre, as a voluntary field worker, you contribute to giving people who live under gruesome conditions something to look forward to – a safe place from the weighted atmosphere inside the camp, and something to fill their long days with. It is clear that the activities are greatly appreciated and make a difference for all those who participate.” – Peder Laumb Stampe and Hanne Clementine Meyer
“I have learned a lot by volunteering. My English skills have skyrocketed and I am actually teaching some English classes now. It was actually my dream as a child to become a teacher and now I am one.” – Shereen, volunteer for A Drop in the Ocean and resident in Skaramangas Refugee Camp
“…Focus on the empowerment, encouragement and reviewing of languages and skills in order to make people more independent and self-sufficient are more important than ever.” – Sumita Shah & Cicilie Bråten-Lindblad
